Local Museum Schürhof Windisch

The museum is housed in the buildings of the Schürhof, a farm first mentioned in 1490 in the rent book of Königsfelden Abbey. The exhibition covers tools from agriculture, household and trades. You can see workshops for old trades such as cooper, wheelwright, carpenter, shoemaker or smith. In the residential house, there is a living area with historic furnishings. Special exhibits include the reconstructed wine and oil press at Schürhof, the old hand pump with hose cart from the Windisch fire brigade, and old tools from the municipality of Windisch. Since 2016, the exhibition on the history of fishing on the Aare and Reuss has been attached to the «Wasserschloss».
