What is the Valais known for?
Most of this region lies entirely in the Alps. Nevertheless, you will find enormous contrasts here. On the one hand, Valais includes particularly mighty mountain massifs and, on the other hand, pretty valleys along the Rhone. In addition to vineyards and side valleys, Valais is home to 41 four-thousand-meter peaks, 18 of which belong to the Monte Rosa group alone. Therefore, the region also has the most and the largest glaciers to offer.
