Description

Along the way, you travel through alpine terrain with some easy climbing sections where you’ll rely on your surefootedness and head for heights. When conditions are right, the descent takes you over the distinctive Tschepband through the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site with its impressive mountain scenery.

The combination of the hut approach, ridge climbing and a scenic summit gives you an intense alpine experience with wide panoramic views. This way, you experience Ringelspitz as a classic high alpine tour with a clear structure and stunning surroundings.

Program

Day 1:

Your first day starts in Tamins, where you join carpool groups heading to Kunkel Pass. From there, you take a pleasant hiking trail up to the Ringelspitz Hut, settle into the dormitory, and unwind in the tranquil hut atmosphere at the end of the day.

Day 2:

On the second day, you follow the trail marks over sandy terrain toward the Tamin Glacier and reach the start of the middle ridge. Roped up, you climb several varied sections to Vorder Ringel. Finally, you continue over the steep, exposed final section to the Ringelspitz, enjoying its expansive panorama.

For the descent, if conditions allow, you take the route over the Tschepband along the Glarus thrust fault within the Sardona tectonic arena, return to the hut, and then descend further to Kunkel Pass.
