“It was a stunning castle and we easily spent a couple hours there.”
Finhaut
Finhaut is a municipality in the French-speaking part of the Valais region. It is located in the upper Trient Valley, named after the river of the same name. Four mountain peaks (2674 to 2838 m above sea level) form the border with France to the west and enclose a valley. The Lac du Vieux Emosson is dammed up here. It forms the upper basin and the Lac d'Emosson reservoir forms the lower basin 300 m lower down at 1930 m above sea level. On the path to the Col des Corbeaux at 2400 m above sea level, you can see well-preserved footprints of archosaurs. Three small railroads provide access to the hiking area around the reservoirs.

“Great. We thought we would spend 1.5 to 2 hours with my 4-year-old daughter, but we ended up staying all afternoon.”
“Excellent and well worth a visit”
“It was a fabulous day starting with a boat trip up the lake to Vitznau, then stepping onto the train up to Rigi Kaltbad. The mineral baths were totally relaxing, from the bubble pools to the stunning outdoor views, plus the herbal steam room, mineral pool tranquility and sauna. A truly sensational day.”
“It was a really exciting and varied tour where you learned a lot about the prominent Winterthur families. I also loved some unexpected facts about trees.”
