From the steam locomotive to the S6: the story of the Bern-Schwarzenburg-Bahn

About this place
Why was a railway line built from Bern into the foothills to Schwarzenburg 120 years ago? There were already discussions during the planning: metre gauge or standard gauge? Even after the opening, not everything was clear: why do you have to change at Fischermätteli? And later: can you reduce the deficit with a cheaply bought multiple unit? Today’s S-Bahn line S6 from Bern to Schwarzenburg of BLS AG was once an independent railway company and had to cope with ups and downs. The former president of the Dampflok 51 Schwarzenburg association, Andreas Messerli, рассказывает with many images from the 121 years of history of the Bern-Schwarzenburg-Bahn (BSB) AG and, together with the three organisers, warmly invites everyone interested to this journey through time. We recommend using the advance sale (reservations via the Schlossverein, click buy ticket). A joint event by the Volkshochschule Schwarzenburg, the Schlossverein Schwarzenburg and the Regionalmuseum Gantrisch.
