Here you’ll find Diepoldsauer Schwamm, a staffed alp in Diepoldsau at 1245 m. The alp lies directly on the cantonal border with Appenzell Innerrhoden. From here, you look towards the hills of the Appenzeller Vorderland, across the Rheintal to Lake Constance and into Vorarlberg. In the alpine hut, you can stop off during the alpine season, and outside the season it can be rented. The hut offers food, overnight accommodation in a dormitory and an alpine hut with kitchen, WC and water. For groups, hot dishes are also available by prior arrangement.
