About this place
The defining feature of the Ständerhaus is its imposing hipped roof, which originally extended deeply down on all sides and was once thatched with straw. Its most important feature is the ridge posts, or Hochstüde, which are not visible from outside, and which run through the house like mighty trunks from the ground to the roof ridge and carry the full weight of the roof. The Ständerhaus presents an interesting exhibition of agricultural equipment and tools.
