On the move with wheelchair, stroller or dog
- Almost all trains are easily accessible by wheelchair. However, some stations are still not fully barrier-free.
- If you're travelling with a wheelchair or stroller, it's best to take the 3S-Bahn Eiger Express from Grindelwald Terminal (via Eigergletscher station) to Jungfraujoch.
- Groups with 3 or more wheelchairs should inform the ticket agent at the starting station about their trip to arrange any necessary assistance.
- You can request free boarding and alighting assistance up to 24 hours in advance by contacting the "SBB Call Center Handicap".
- All BLS scheduled ships allow access with wheelchairs or strollers on the main deck (2nd class), where wheelchair-accessible toilets are also available.
- Not all mountain railways are fully adapted to carry wheelchairs yet. Often, wheelchairs can only be transported if folded. Be sure to check with the operator of the planned mountain railway beforehand.
- Dogs travel free on some public transport. If you want to travel worry-free, you can buy a Bernese Oberland Pass for your dog for a flat rate of CHF 30. This price applies to all periods, including the 10-day pass.
