Description

The ticket includes the mandatory seat reservation in 1st class between Flüelen and Lugano for the Gotthard Panorama Express. The journey takes place in comfortable panorama cars with extra-large windows. This gives you an impressive view of the diverse landscape along the historic Gotthard route.

The reservation guarantees a fixed seat and allows for a relaxed journey. The seat reservation for the Gotthard Panorama Express is mandatory, which means you cannot travel without this reservation.

After departing from Flüelen, the route runs along Lake Lucerne and further into the Reuss valley. Steep cliffs, deep gorges, and historic villages line the way. The famous church of Wassen appears multiple times from varying perspectives.

Subsequently, the train crosses the 15 km long Gotthard tunnel and reaches Ticino. Mediterranean flair, palm trees, and picturesque vineyards characterize the scenery. Passing by Bellinzona with its three castles, you continue to Lugano.

The ticket is valid exclusively for the reservation on the train route between Flüelen and Lugano.

A seat reservation for the boat trip on Lake Lucerne is not included. If you want to book a seat reservation for the boat, you must book this separately. However, it is not mandatory.

The scenery was incredible, all the train staff was extremely friendly, informative and knowledgeable. The train was comfortable, not overly crowded and a very smooth ride considering the terrain we traversed.
