Description

Together with your hosts, you will go to the food markets in Münstergasse and Bundesplatz one after the other. For each market, you have 45 minutes to look for ingredients and specialties at your leisure. The walking time is about 5 minutes each time.

The food is prepared and eaten together in the apartment in Bern's old town (Aarbergergasse).

The "Märit"

The Märit (Bernese for "market") is a great opportunity to discover local Swiss food specialties. As most tourists can't enjoy the market (you can only pay with cash or Twint at the market), Dani and Roman want to offer foreigners the full market experience.

To avoid queues, the tour starts with an early visit. You'll sample some food, hear stories from local farmers and vendors, and shop for what you'd like to try and eat at brunch.

Swiss food markets mainly sell cheese and dried meat. This tour is therefore not suitable for vegans. If you have dietary restrictions, the choice may be somewhat limited. However, our Dani and Roman will do their best to accommodate them.
