Saint-Imier

Saint Imier is a commune in the Bern region, which is mainly French-speaking. In this region, watchmaking has a long and prestigious tradition. Nowadays, the commune specializes in the production of micromechanics and watch cases. In the higher altitudes of the Jura, agriculture and especially dairy farming play an important role. The famous cheese Tête de Moine is produced here. In addition, Saint Imier is home to the largest wind power plant in Switzerland, located on Mont Crosin. Furthermore, Saint Imier is also the proud owner of the largest solar power plant in Switzerland, located on Mont Soleil.
