Silja Walter was a writer and poet of extraordinary vitality and timeless creativity. For her heavenly work with down-to-earth grounding, she received numerous honours in the literary and cultural fields. Silja Walter, the Benedictine Sister Maria Hedwig, died on 31 January 2011, at almost 92, at Kloster Fahr. Her work still inspires today through theatre, dance, readings, conversations or church services.
