Buchs ZH is a municipality in the Furttal valley. It is close to the city of Zurich and can be reached from there in just 20 minutes on the S6. Buchs ZH lies at the foot of the Lägern, a ten-kilometer-long forested ridge. The Lägern is the easternmost foothill of the Faltenjura. Worth seeing are the remains of a Roman estate, the Villa Rustica of Buchs. It is located on the Mühleberg, from where you can get a good overview of the municipality. During excavations begun in the 18th century, mosaics and well-preserved wall paintings were also found.
