Willisau

Willisau lies west of Sursee in the canton of Lucerne and is well connected in terms of transport. The town is surrounded by gentle hills, meadows, and agricultural land. Its well-preserved historic town centre, featuring ring walls, towers, and fountains, shapes the local character. The Obertor gate and city walls recall its medieval past. Willisau developed early into a regional market and administrative hub. To this day, the town plays an important role for the surrounding area.

“We really enjoyed the city tour. Even as "almost locals," we learned a lot of new things. Ms Kocher was very knowledgeable and took us on an exciting journey.”

“The castle was much bigger inside than expected, with amazing history and stunning artefacts. It was a great time of year to visit, not too crowded, and the whole experience was interesting. Walking where people walked hundreds of years ago felt humbling.”
