Sursee

Sursee is a small town in the canton of Lucerne, beautifully located by Lake Sempach. The old town is known for its well-preserved historical buildings, including the Lucerne Gate and St. George's parish church. Sursee has a vibrant cultural scene with events and markets that attract visitors from all over the region. Lake Sempach is great for swimming, boating, and stand-up paddling. There is a bird sanctuary by the lake and lovely walking and biking paths. A short hike leads to the idyllic Mauensee, a small lake with a castle island. The view of Mauensee Castle is particularly beautiful.

“A great idea, very well executed and presented. It’s frustrating that I can’t see what I’ve already written here!! I would have liked to hear more about nightlife back then. What happened to the sick or women in labour? What about runaway children or raging epidemics at night? But it was great, thank you very much!!”

“As already mentioned, the facilities, the animals and so on are great! The restaurant loses a point: the food was only lukewarm, and I find CHF 17.50 for one hamburger (meat and bun) too expensive! If you also want chips or salad, that costs another CHF 3.”
