Elsigen Metsch ticket cable car

Your ticket takes you by cable car up to Elsigenalp. After the scenic journey, you can enjoy the unique panorama of the surrounding region. At the top, also explore the many hiking trails and cozy walks through the breathtaking Swiss mountain scenery.

The cable car journey starts at the valley station in Elsigbach. If needed, you can also book the bus transfer from and to Achseten Kirch.

Route of the Elsigen-Metsch Cable Car

Valley station: Elsigbach

In about 7 minutes, you will ride on a modern cable car up to Elsigenalp. During this ascent, you cross a height difference of 470 meters. The view along the way is stunningly beautiful.

Mountain station: Elsigenalp

Upon arrival, your first view will be the magnificent panorama of the surrounding region. Then, discover the many hiking routes and relaxing walks through the magnificent mountain landscape.

Bus route:

From Achseten Kirch to Elsigbach valley station and back. The bus runs only upon reservation/advance booking.

Practical information:

• With a Bernese Oberland regional pass, you travel free by bus and cable car.

Near the valley station is the famous cholera gorge. This gorge captivates every visitor with waterfalls and narrow rock formations. You can safely explore the stunning gorge on bridges and well-maintained paths. The hike across the gorge takes about an hour and is worthwhile for every visitor to the area.

• June: from 09:00 to 17:00
• July + August: from 08:30 to 17:00
• September + October: 09:00 to 17:00

Bus Timetable:

• From Achseten Church: hourly from 09:05 to 16:05
• From Elsigbach (valley station): hourly from 09:35 to 11:35 and 13:35 to 16:35

No bus departs from Elsigbach to Achseten at 12:35.
