Om dette sted

The arts commission of the city of Kreuzlingen initiated the design of the wall surfaces in the underpass at the suggestion of the Kurzrickenbach neighbourhood association. Creative teams from the Offenen Atelier Mansio, the Offene Jugendarbeit Kreuzlingen (OJA) and the Besmerhuus association designed this open-air exhibition. Creations in words and images have emerged. Acrylic paint was used to paint, write, dab and spray. The motifs are diverse and freely designed by artists’ hands. A so-called salonhängung was created. This is the term for a particularly tight arrangement of paintings. They often reach up to the ceiling, with the frames of the works hanging close together. It is also known as Petersburger Hängung. The term goes back to the richly hung walls of the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg (art museum). The project was inaugurated in June 2021 by the arts commission of the city of Kreuzlingen and the Kurzrickenbach neighbourhood association.
