In Switzerland, eleven bird species are exclusively found in the Alps. Five different altitude levels create habitats with their typical bird species: bearded and griffon vultures, golden and short-toed eagles, red and black kites, common and wasp harriers, kestrel, brown throat, and field larks. These and other species can be observed in the Simmental. You will learn a lot about their behavior, breeding biology, diet, evolution, and migration patterns. You will learn how to identify raptors in a simple way. With a magnifying glass, you can marvel at the wonders of bird fields and get to know their diverse functions. An exciting nature experience for children and adults.
