In 1990, the sawmill was decommissioned by the owner Ferdinand Reiter Junior and in 2004/2005 restored by Valens Tourismus, under the leadership of Kurt Wyrsch, and reopened to the public as a museum. The Alte Säge Valens is freely accessible all year round and is a fascinating witness to the timber industry of the last century.
