About the Museum of Transport

Plan on at least 3-4 hours to explore this rich, interactive world of mobility at your leisure.

Lucerne, one of the most beautiful cities in the country, is home to the Swiss Museum of Transport. It is the most visited museum in Switzerland and offers its visitors an incredibly diverse range of different exhibitions and interactive attractions, play areas and workshops

As the name of the museum suggests, the focus is on mobility. Here you'll learn all about the past, present and future of mobility. The journey ranges from the first railroads to the future of space travel. The Museum of Transport is the best place to learn more about all the ways we travel: by air, by sea and in the vastness of space. The many interactive attractions ensure that learning is always fun. They are especially popular with children.

The tour continues to the Hans Erni Museum. Hans Erni is considered one of the most important Swiss artists of past decades. Here you have the opportunity to learn more about his life and work - and of course to admire it yourself. The 30 meter long mural "panta rhei" is one of his most famous works. It depicts the most important personalities of the Western world, such as Karl Marx. The sculpture garden is a place of contemplation where you walk between numerous sculptures.

Finally, there is the futuristic Media World. You have the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of virtual reality, exploring places like Mount Everest. The Red Bull Stratos VR allows you to take a virtual journey into the stratosphere - an unforgettable and adventurous experience.

Thus, there is something for all tastes and ages at the Swiss Museum of Transport. This is probably the reason for its popularity. Surely, the time here will pass very quickly and entertainingly for you, too.

Swiss Activities Tip
