Bathing in Lake Maggiore
Stress-free trip with car and chauffeur
Covid19 Protection concept available
If you like water, you will love this trip. The crystal clear waters of the Verzasca River and the famous Lake Maggiore invite you to swim. On the lake an optional boat trip is possible or you can try one of the water sports offered here.
The tour starts directly at your accommodation in or around Lugano. The chauffeur will first set course in a northerly direction. On the way you will enjoy a fairytale scenery with typical Ticino country houses and villages. Passing the Verzasca dam, the driver will point out the famous bungee jump site where scenes from the James Bond movie Goldeneye were filmed.
Lavertezzo is home to the picturesque Romanesque stone bridge from which locals and tourists love to jump into the emerald waters of the Verzasca. Over millions of years, water power has shaped the Verzasca Valley into a wild beauty. By the way, the Verzasca is one of the 100 best diving spots in the world. Here in the crystal clear water you can relax before having lunch in this special place.
Afterwards the tour continues to one of the most charming towns on Lake Maggiore. Ascona is located only 196 meters above sea level, making it the lowest town in Switzerland. Thanks to the mild weather and the mountains often covered with snow, here Switzerland merges with the Italian Dolce Vita.
You can take a stroll along Ascona's lakeside promenade or enjoy a coffee in one of the charming old town cafes. If you prefer a more sporty approach, a swim in Lake Maggiore is recommended, or you can try out one of the many water sports that are offered here.
After drying off, you can return by car from Ascona to the starting point in Lugano.
