Andermatt Furkapass basic course ski touring technique three days

• Deepen your technique and your basic knowledge in ski touring

• Join the tour in German or in English

Day 1: You meet your mountain guide at 9:30 am at the Mammut Store Andermatt. Here you will be welcomed, get your rental equipment and a short introduction. Afterwards you will go up to the Hotel Tiefenbach. On the way you can already improve your technique and the gliding of the skis

• Distance: 4.5 km
• Walking time: 2 hours
• Ascent: 600 meters in altitude

Day 2 and 3: On these two days you will participate in training tours in the area. These will be planned together with the group the evening before and adapted according to weather and conditions. Possible destinations are: Chli Bielenhorn 2904 m, Klein Furkahorn 3026 m, Schafberg 2591 m and others.

• Distance: 5 -7 km
• Walking time: 4-6 hours
• Ascent: 1000 meters in altitude

The tour ends at about 16:00 at the Mammut Store Andermatt

Practical information:

• Languages: German, English
• Tour start is coordinated with the train arrival at 09:22 in Andermatt
• Prerequisite technique: terrain is moderately steep, partly steeper passages
• For snowboarders: safe traversing (front/backside), overcoming flat sections with pushing technique (ski poles)

Rental material The mountain guide will bring the ordered rental equipment to the agreed meeting point. The following equipment can be rented in Andermatt:

• Ski touring equipment (skis, bindings, skins, crampons, poles)

• MSR snowshoes (for snowboarders)

• Functional socks and spare socks

Overnight stay in hut
