On a relaxing morning cruise, enjoy the journey from Lucerne to Vitznau, where the Vitznau-Rigi Railway makes its way through the mountains of Central Switzerland up to the Rigi. Be thrilled by the ride on Europe's first mountain railroad, which was opened in 1871 as the "Rigibahn". Over 1300 meters of altitude are overcome during the ascent with the red train. From here you can already look down on the deep blue Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountain scenery of the Central Swiss Alps

Arriving at the Rigi Kulm terminus, a short path leads to the summit of the Queen of the Mountains. No one should miss this majestic view at 1797 m.a.s.l.! Central Switzerland and all its alpine splendor are here at your feet. Even Mark Twain, Goethe or Tolstoy enjoyed the same panorama in their time, which brings 13 lakes and 620 peaks to light.

You have free time here to explore the diverse world of the Rigi. Countless hiking trails and restaurants, as well as the charming and simple mountain chapel "Regina Montium" (Queen of the Mountains) are waiting for you.

The tour then continues with the cog railroad to Rigi Kaltbad, a car-free place that is completely dedicated to relaxation. The wellness oasis of the Mineralbad & Spa offers not only relaxing hours, but also architectural highlights: a spacious piazza serves not only as a vantage point on the magnificent Lake Lucerne, but also as the roof of the wellness facility. A short, easy hiking trail (about 15 minutes) leads to the Känzeli, one of the most popular viewing platforms on the Rigi. From here, Lake Lucerne as well as the picturesque mountain ranges can be viewed.

Back to the valley, the 2.3-kilometer-long aerial cable car will take you, again offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Enjoy the ride and sit back until you reach the Weggis valley station. From there, it's just a stone's throw to the Weggis boat station, where you'll begin your return journey by boat. Here you get the chance to see and capture the dreamy Lucerne Riviera in the early evening light before the tour ends in Lucerne.
