Description

The movie theater in the Museum of Transport in Lucerne is one of the most famous in the whole Switzerland. It houses the largest screen in the country with a size of 25m x 19m and became famous especially because of the IMAX equipment. IMAX technology made it possible to project detailed images on the largest screens to date. In the meantime, the films are shown in digital form, but this in no way detracts from the breathtaking film experience. On the contrary, in 2008 the movie theater was equipped with 3D standards, which only makes the XXL experience more exciting and incredible!

Of course, there is also the option to combine your evening visit to the movie theater with an active day at Switzerland's most popular museum. The Museum of Transport Lucerne houses huge collections of various locomotives, ships, cars, cable cars and airplanes, an aerospace hall and an exhibition on media. All exhibits are clearly explained and a lot of interactive opportunities to discover the world of transport are available. The "Swiss Chocolate Adventure" and the largest planetarium in Switzerland round out the museum's offerings. Children as well as adults from all over Switzerland enjoy active and informative days at the Museum of Transport Lucerne.

The program of the film theater includes selected feature films as well as opera and concert broadcasts and breathtaking documentaries. Ocean worlds pass by within your reach, you stand in the middle of the Viennese opera or are drawn into their world up close by the best film classics and feature films: a visit to the Filmtheater is an absolute must! In the evenings, feature films and classics, such as "Dinner for One" at the turn of the year or "Love Actually" in the run-up to Christmas, are particularly enticing. Whether 3D or 2D: every film here is a true experience.

A true 3D movie spectacle on this oversized screen attracts young and old to the Filmtheater of the Museum of Transport Lucerne. A visit to the cinema that will stay with you for a long time!
