Beginner friendly snowkite course
An experienced instructor introduces you to the sport
Choose yourself between skis or snowboard
If you already know how to ski or snowboard, then you might want to try something new, something more exciting. In this course you will learn snowkiting. Snowkiting is related to kitesurfing - only that it takes place not on the water, but on the snow. Specially made towing kites are either attached to you, and you are pulled across the snow on skis or snowboard by the force of the wind
This may sound a bit difficult at first. However, snowkiting is actually easier than kitesurfing. This is primarily due to the fact that you can stand on the snow - unlike on the water. Also, less power is needed, which is due to the fact that snow offers less resistance than water. But above all, it is the instructors who will make snowkiting easy for you.
Thanks to years of experience, they know exactly what the difficulties and challenges are - and are therefore perfect for all beginners. Already after a few hours you will be able to celebrate your first successes. And there is no better feeling than being pulled across the snow by the wind. Once you've mastered the basics, your instructor will teach you advanced techniques, such as jumps and various tricks
By the way, the ski resort where you will learn snowkiting is very suitable for this. Because the gentle slopes of the Simplon Pass are not too challenging, but still not boring. But the very first steps of snowkiting you will take on a flat surface. The Simplon Pass is located at an altitude of almost 2,000 meters, and is one of the most beautiful ski resorts in Switzerland. So while you are learning a new sport, you can also enjoy the beautiful natural landscape of Switzerland.
At the end of this one-day course for beginners, you will already have mastered the first techniques and will certainly have discovered snowkiting for yourself!
Meeting point: Snowkite Spot Simplon (bus stop Monte Leone) No previous experience necessary You have to bring your own skis or snowboard Duration: three to four hours Maximum four students per instructor
